CCA’s benefit plans provide protection for you and your family today as well as a way to plan for your future. It's clear, comprehensive and competitive. We give you choices, so you can select what works best for you.

Smiling CCA SORT officers

As you’d expect from such a reputable, nationwide company, your total compensation package begins with the competitive salaries we offer. Then we add an attractive, comprehensive benefits package that is flexible enough to meet your changing needs, while at the same time anticipating the unexpected.

CCA’s benefits package is an important part of our employee’s total compensation and is part of what makes CCA a great place to work. For more details about the benefit plans offered, find the facility you’re interested in by using the “Facility Locations List” link and contact them directly.

Health Care

With today’s spiraling health care costs, you’ll be happy to know that we’ve put together health benefits that’ll let you rest easy. CCA typically offers its employees a choice of health care plans, such as a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan and a Consumer Driven Healthcare Plan (CDHP). These plans provide coverage for a wide range of services including office visits, preventive care, hospitalization, and prescription drugs. Our plans offer programs and resources to help you stay healthy, promote wellness and healthy living, and manage chronic conditions.

CCA offers its employees the choice of two dental plan options. The "Basic" option provides coverage for routine dental checkups and care. The "Advance" option covers more extensive procedures such as crowns, root canals and orthodontics. Both dental options also include a vision discount plan.

Vision Insurance

CCA employees may also elect to participate in a vision insurance plan. This plan provides coverage for eye exams and glasses or contacts, with many options offered for low co-pays. It features a large national network that includes independent practitioners as well as many well known retail chains.

For each of these plans, employees can choose the tier of coverage that they need, such as single, employee and spouse, employee and child(ren) or family coverage. Plus, employee premiums for the health, dental, and vision plans are deducted from your paycheck on a pre-tax basis.

Life and AD&D Insurance

CCA provides opportunities for financial security for you and your loved ones with company-paid Group Term Life Insurance and company-paid AD&D Insurance.

CCA provides eligible employees with a short term disability income insurance program. The benefit equals a percentage of your regular earnings and covers up to 12 weeks for a non-work related disability, subject to the terms and conditions of the plan. A voluntary long term disability program is also offered.

Flexible Spending Accounts ("FSA")

An FSA is an employer-sponsored plan that allows you to deduct dollars from your paycheck on a pre-tax basis, to pay for eligible healthcare and dependent care expenses. FSA contributions can reduce your Federal, Social Security, and applicable state and local income taxes.

Paid Time Off (PTO) and Holidays

CCA recognizes the importance of providing employees with the opportunity for rest, recreation and time for personal activities. For this reason, CCA offers Paid Time Off (PTO), which may be used for vacation, illness, personal business, family illness or holidays not observed by the company. PTO is based on length of service and hours paid each pay period. Separate from the PTO bank, CCA observes nine official holidays each calendar year.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Everyone has challenges in their lives from time to time, and this program can help. It provides employees and their families with access to a licensed counselor who can provide three personal counseling sessions at no cost. The counselors are available to help with alcohol/drug abuse, crisis management, parenting problems, financial concerns, family problems, work difficulties, marital concerns, emotional issues and other personal issues. The program also includes a 24-hour hotline for employees and their families. Use of this program is entirely voluntary and confidential.

CCA offers employees the opportunity to save for their retirement through its 401(k) Plan. Upon eligibility, employees may contribute, on a pre-tax basis, up to 90% of their gross bi-weekly pay into the Plan. The Plan also permits “catch up” contributions for eligible employees who are age 50 or over. All employee contributions are subject to IRS annual dollar limits.

CCA also offers a generous matching contribution. Certain employer contributions may be subject to a vesting schedule, based on years of service with CCA.

All investments (employee contributions and contributions made by CCA on your behalf) are “participant-directed”. This means that you determine how your current and future money will be allocated among the different funds offered by the plan. To assist with the goal of diversification, the CCA 401k Plan offers various investment options that provide differing levels of risk.

Eligible employees may elect to participate in voluntary benefit options, such as supplemental group term life insurance options, universal life insurance, and an accident insurance plan.

Benefit plans are available to eligible full-time employees and/or upon completion of any applicable waiting periods. Due to contractual requirements, certain benefits may vary from the above descriptions. For more information on a particular facility’s benefits plan, contact the human resources manager at that facility.
