Warden: Arvil Chapman
Arvil Chapman was named warden of South Central Correctional Center in June 2011. Previously he served as warden of Kit Carson Correctional Center, Marion Adjustment Center and Hernando County Jail [when it was a CCA facility] beginning November 2005. Before joining CCA, Warden Chapman served in the United States Navy as a correctional specialist from 1983 to 1993. He then joined CCA as a correctional officer at South Central Correctional Facility in Clifton, Tennessee, where he promoted from senior correctional officer, to captain, and finally to unit manager. In 2002, Chapman was promoted to assistant warden of Tall Trees and Shelby Training Center in Memphis, Tennessee. In 2004, Chapman transferred to Marion Adjustment Center, where he served for over a year as assistant warden before his Hernando County Jail appointment.
